![]() You are mingled with threads like: -I wanna put a laminate on my schechter diamond series figured top guitar worth 120 dollars. I wanna put 350 pickups in my RG120 to get the brutz with myu line6 spider combo. ![]() The pick ups will be fine for you, unless youre in a serious band that is seriously doing shows and is serious about making it somewhere. To be honest, every other brand I try just feels like cheap with a thick neck. Can anyone compare the Ibanez infinity pickup to the Ibanez powersound pickup I have powersounds in my current Ibanez and I like them but they are weak for things like pinch harmonics. Would infinity pickups be considered high-output Whether or not they are, how do they stack up to EMG Hz, Duncan Designed, and the other pickups in the price range Please nobody suggest installing aftermarket. Ive never played powersound pickups but I can tell you that the Infinitys are terrible. Despite what you said: Get an Ibanez and replace the pickups. Plus to get a decent Ibanez and buy better pickups would take me out of my price range. Depends on what you want to play and if you want a Trem If youre leaning towards a Metal sound and you dont mind not having a trem you could get an RG 321MH and put Bill Lawrence pickups in it. There really are very few guitars that wouldnt benefit from a pickup swap. Im not interested in getting some kind of blazing classic rock or creamy blues tone, I just want a nice mean sound. The Ibanez RGs in my price range are all kinda ugly, especially the neck inlays. Infinity Or Quantum Pickups Plus It HasI really like the look of the Schecter Tempest Blackjack, plus it has Seymour Duncans and a set-neck, but I have never tried out a Tempest, nor Xtra-Jumbo frets, so I am reluctant to order one. Id try and be more helpful but Im afraid Metal Guitars arent my expertise that one in particular was just one that my buddy did when he was on a budget that turned out nicely n nn n n n n n n n n Jan 30, 2006, 5:16 PM n n n n n n n Like n n n n n n n n nnn n n n n n n n Slayer224 a n ROAR n n n n n n n Join date: Aug 2005 n 60 IQ n n n n n n 7 n n n n Click to copy post linkn n n n n n n n n n you should look into some jacksons n nn n roar n n n n n n n n n Jan 30, 2006, 6:57 PM n n n n n n n Like n n n n n n n n nnn n n n n n n n lowtek pro n Registered abUser n n n n n n n Join date: Apr 2005 n 100 IQ n n n n n n 8 n n n n Click to copy post linkn n n n n n n n n n Jacksons to be honest, I love the way they look. Ive wanted a DK2 with sharkfin inlays, but when I have tried playing Jacksons, they just feel like a ripoff for the price. I dont bother trying out the soloists or the other expensive Jacksons that are out of my price range. I also tried a B.C. Rich Bich, another guitar I love the look of, but it too had a massive neck. But with that price range though you really really should get an Ibanez RG321MH for about 300 and then the rest on some good pickups cause really the infinity pickups are pretty crap. All the Ibanezes in that price range have infinity pickups as well. Maybe you should buy a second hand Ibanez rg550 or rg570 off ebay n nn n roar n n n Last edited by Slayer224 at Jan 30, 2006, 9:31 PM n n n n n n n n n Jan 30, 2006, 9:28 PM n n n n n n n Like n n n n n n n n nnn n n n n n n n Chromeproguitar n UG Freak n n n n n n n Join date: Jan 2006 n 60 IQ n n n n n n 10 n n n n Click to copy post linkn n n n n n n n n n holy crap i love the wizard neck on an ibanez rg n nn n Quote by bajeda congrats, you made me chuckle at your stupidity. The trem is not crap, unless you dont know how to properly use it or unless you really like extreme, excessive dives. Ive never played any powersounds, but the pups on my RG are high enough output to pull harmoncis relatively easy. What kind of amp do you have Cause chances are if you want better pick ups you really just need a better amp.
